Reinventing the wheel can be the only satisfaction for some builders who must modify every nook and cranny before feeling content with a custom job. For Calum Pryce-Tidd of deBolex Engineering, he sees custom builds differently, and this Buell XB9 tagged ‘1/1’ shows his passion for creating a one of a kind bike that stays true to its factory heritage.

Starting off the first ten years of its life in traditional City X trim, the owner of this Buell saw fit to have the deBolex team work their magic on renovating the sporty design of the two cylinder. The fork was swapped with a Showa unit and is held tight by a custom triple clamp that mounts a new set of Rizoma flat bars, giving the bike a more aggressive stance. The aluminum body work was hand formed in the shop to cradle a new subframe, and since this model’s farme is the gas tank, a faux tank was crafted to cover the bikes battery and intake. Finished with a bizarre front cowling that houses two LED headlights and the oil cooler, this is a Buell that has never looked so good.
