Gjovik House

Situated on a snowy hillside overlooking Mjosa Lake, the Gjovik House is as Scandinavian as the landscape that surrounds it. The structure is comprised of a cluster of small boxes. Each unit has it's own unique size. The variation creates subtle changes in height and width resulting in a broken layout and a natural definition of space. Clad in vertical planks, the facade will weather over time, blending itself into the Norwegian woodlands. Internally, a minimalist palette created by warm woods and soft gray hues runs throughout while large amounts of glazing frame in views of the natural setting.
