Originally built in the 1920s, the Gounod House is the reinvention of a Montreal duplex. The structure begins its second life as a single family dwelling. Its authentic brick facade was completely restored, maintaining the exterior's historic character. A black metal extension to the top provides a contemporary counterpoint while making room for a rooftop terrace. Internally, bright, open spaces are washed in natural light. Modern finishes, green spaces and white walls marry with warm walnut accents to create an overall atmosphere that is both fresh and inviting.
