Freedom, salvation, redemption. Saorsa means all of these things, maybe. They travel for pleasure. Also for work. They travel for love. Or for lack of love. Nowadays, even the selfies have become enough reason to pack up and go but do they detract from the essence of the Journey? You can also travel for the sole reason of washing away worries and anxieties, only to think and to be able to feel a little more free. With the need to reflect on where I wanted to go, these are the reasons that led me to Scotland and almost without realising the beauty of the Highlands became one of the tools for my freedom.

The Ranges

Katie Abdilla and Roger James recently rode a 1974 Honda XL250 and a BMW r75/6 4000k from Hobart, Tasmania to Arkaroola (somewhere very remote in South Australia). Along with Melbourne photographer Jason Lau, they packed their stuff, took the bikes on the dirt and made it back in one piece. Jason trailed them with camera in hand documenting the trip in his recognisable style and we loved the results.
