The FJ Company 1964 Land Cruiser Surf Wagon

Racking up years of experience restoring vintage Land Cruisers, The FJ Company has perfected the art of reviving old, dated machinery. Their latest is a 1964 Land Cruiser FJ45LV, a worthy surf wagon ready to cruise any coast. The build started as a derelict FJ45LV with more rust than original paint. The client wanted a modified 1960s FJ45LV that they could take to the coast, “in search of the area’s best sand and surf.” Mission accomplished. The FJ Company stripped it down to the original sheet metal, repainted it in a two-tone teal and white paint scheme, and then outfitted it with all the modern features The FJ Company is known for. Head over to their website to learn more (or order your own custom build).

Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 Ute

Every so often, a vehicle comes along that proves to us that everything in the world is not so bad. Today, that vehicle is this custom Toyota Land Cruiser ute from the geniuses at Proffitt’s Resurrection Land Cruisers. There are a lot of things going on with this incredible SEMA build, so pay attention – it might get confusing. For starters, this wicked 4×4 is actually the body of a '79 Series Land Cruiser Ute on a 1993 FZJ80 chassis. Project Sequoia

When it comes to workshops that do resto-mods right, Legacy Overland is at the top of the game. They’ve added another stunning piece to their catalogue with this 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser they’re calling ‘Project Sequoia.’ While the name might conjure up a drive through the redwood forests of California, the drop-top style of this matte black Toyota is just as suited to beachside cruising. This bad boy even comes with a classic matched jerry can, in case you forget to fill up between rides. With Project Sequoia, the legends at Legacy Overland have truly outdone themselves.

The Legacy HJ-45

The latest from Legacy Overland is as practical — and true to its roots — as you could find in the crowded 4x4 restomod market. The base for the project is a bit of a rarity: A 1978 Toyota HJ-45 long-bed truck. Not nearly as common as its short-wheelbase siblings, the HJ-45 platform makes this project truly unique. A ground-up restoration saw the truck completely disassembled and stripped to its bare frame and refinished in black and military green. The inline six-cylinder diesel was totally rebuilt, with a 2" lift and bead-lock tires added. The result is a restoration that p[erfectly walks the line between classic style and modern reliability.

1979 BJ40 Land Cruiser is the Ride Your Dad Wants

Piggybacking on a spirit of adventurous attitude, vintage Toyota Land Cruisers continue to be a desirable off-road utility vehicle amongst car collectors both old and young. Especially when you add a fully restored and rebuilt Land Cruiser into the mix, such a desire is unsurprisingly escalated across the board. Take this 1979 BJ40 for example, recently sold at Bonham’s Amelia Island Auction this past March.
