Vans x WTAPS is a Near Perfect Collab

For the uninitiated, WTAPS (pronounced Double Taps) is a chic Japanese menswear label that grew out of Tetsu Nishiyama’s FORTY PERCENT AGAINST RIGHTS (FPAR) project in the 90s. The brand’s big into cuts, with “place things where they should be” their guiding mantra.

This Vans x WTAPS collab includes 13 pieces: footwear, apparel and accessories. It’s a real premium affair, blending Japanese craftsmanship with Van’s iconic design aesthetic. In the footwear dept. it’s all about subtle design tweaks and innovative materials. The grey digital camo on the Half Cab, the crocodile-textured quarter panel on the Classic era, and the less subtle flames on the Sk8-Hi’s make Vans’ classic silhouettes into one-off statement pieces.

The whole collection drops July 28, and will be available at few retailers in Sydney (so get in quick). Check the rest of it out here.
